This Privacy Policy explains how My Pocket (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the My Pocket – Your Daily Life Manager mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
My Pocket is completely free to use. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your name, email address, and login credentials through Firebase Authentication. An account is required so your data can sync across devices and be shared with people you choose.
Content you create. The App stores the content you enter in order to provide its features:
- Expense records (amounts, categories, dates, and optional descriptions)
- Lend and borrow records (amounts, the names you assign to them, and settlement status)
- Shopping lists and list items
- To-do lists and tasks
- Personal notes
- Group cost records, when that feature becomes available
Technical information. We automatically collect limited technical data needed to keep the App working reliably, such as device type, operating system version, app version, and general usage diagnostics.
What we do not collect: we do not collect your contacts list, precise location, photos, microphone or camera data, or SMS messages. We do not access your bank accounts — all financial entries in My Pocket are typed in by you.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the App’s core features — storing and syncing your expenses, lists, notes, and to-dos
- To enable sharing: when you share a list or record, we deliver it to the people you selected
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App using aggregated usage statistics
- To communicate with you about your account, security, or important changes to the service
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your personal content for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
3. Sharing Features
My Pocket is built around optional sharing. When you share a shopping list, to-do list, or lend/borrow record with another person, that person can see the content of the shared item, your name, and updates you make to it. Sharing is always initiated by you — nothing is shared automatically. You can stop sharing an item at any time from within the App, after which the other person will no longer receive updates to it.
4. Third-Party Services
The App is built on Google Firebase services, provided by Google LLC. These services process data only as necessary to operate the App:
- Firebase Authentication — securely handles account creation and sign-in
- Cloud Firestore — stores and synchronizes your app data
- Google Analytics for Firebase — collects aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics that help us improve the App
Google processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure Google Firebase servers and transmitted using industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS). Login credentials are managed by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us in plain form. While no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If your account is deleted, your personal data and content are permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days, except where a longer retention period is required by law. Items you previously shared with others may remain visible to them in the form they received before deletion.
7. Deleting Your Account and Data
To delete your account and all associated data, send an email to jaedm97@gmail.com from your registered email address with the subject line “Delete My Account”. We will verify the request and permanently delete your account and data within 30 days, then confirm the deletion by email.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, receive a copy of your data, restrict or object to certain processing, and delete your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at jaedm97@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
9. Children’s Privacy
My Pocket is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be stored and processed on Google Firebase servers located outside your country of residence. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection consistent with this policy.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email, and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
